We had an amazing day at the San Diego Zoo. The kids had a great time seeing one of the largest zoos in the world. After the zoo we went over to Seaport Village for shopping and dinner. The students were able to shop at the unique stores and we ate at San Diego Pier Cafe. Take a look at the restaurant (http://www.piercafe.com/), it was beautiful! Look forward to seeing all of you tomorrow! We arrive at 5:40 pm with American Airlines.

We checked out of our hotel in LA this morning and went through Chinatown. The guys then headed north to play Santa Clarita Christian. Prior to the game the boys had a tour of The Master's College and met the headmen's soccer coach. The boys played really well in their game defeating Santa Clarita 3-2. The opposing team welcomed our team with t-shirts, hats, and pizza. The girls got off to a slow start but played well in the second half. Unfortunately they fell to Animo Leadership 4-1. Both teams drove out to San Diego after the games and we are now checked in to our hotel near the Zoo. Tomorrow we are going to the San Diego Zoo and Sea Port Village!

We started our day by going to Griffith Park Observatory and taking pictures with the Hollywood sign! It was an incredible view of the sign and the city! We then went to Hollywood where the students were able to see the Walk of Fame, Kodak Theatre, Grauman's Chinese Theater, and much more. After, we went to Beverly Hills and walked down Rodeo Drive. The students loved the experience and some bought a cup of Starbucks coffee just to be able to say they "bought something on Rodeo Drive!" For dinner we drove out to Malibu Beach and took some pictures on the beach as the sun was setting.

Tomorrow is our last soccer games in California. The boys will play Santa Clarita at 3pm and the girls will play Animo Leadership at 4pm.

Hope you had a great weekend! We had a really fun day starting with church. The weather today was absolutely beautiful for Six Flags. Everyone had a really good time riding the roller coasters. The park was practically empty so we all were able to ride the roller coasters several times. Tonight for dinner we had Marie Callenders. Some of the kids had a chicken potpie for the first time. Everyone is off to bed. We have a long day tomorrow, as we will be touring Hollywood, Rodeo Drive, and Beverly Hills. Have a great night!

Another beautiful day in Southern California. It started out overcast and quickly shifted to a warm sunny day with a slight breeze from the north. Again, the students began the day with a warm up, breakfast, and the Truth Project. We inserted a little variety today, adjusting to Panera for lunch rather than Subway, which was a delighted change. From there we traveled to North Hills to play Hillcrest Christian. With the mountains providing a picturesque background, the boys and the girls both tallied their second win. East Coast - 4. West Coast - 0. The final for the boys was 5-1, the girls 8-0. Despite sluggish starts, the teams continue to perform well out here. We concluded the evening with a Mexican feast. Everyone continues to have a good time. We are looking forward to church with John MacArthur and Six Flags tomorrow. Have a great night!

It was great surprise when we saw both our girls and boys basketball teams show up to support us in our games today. The basketball teams are currently in San Diego playing basketball games. They took some time on their day off to come support both soccer teams. Thanks to both teams for coming out.

We just returned from the Santa Monica Pier. Everyone had a great day. We started off the morning with a warmup run and breakfast. The students watched another Truth Project DVD. We left around 10 am for Venice beach. It was a beautiful day at the beach and everyone took pictures by the water. After the beach we had some lunch and left for the game. Westmark Academy graciously hosted both the girls and boys soccer teams. The girls played first at 2 pm. They played very well and won 10-0. The boys also played very well and won 10-0. After the game we ate at another classic Californian restaurant: In and Out Burger. Everyone loved the food and some went back for seconds. Our final destination for the evening was the Santa Monica Pier. The students enjoyed walking the pier and seeing all the different sights. Everyone is off to bed. We have another game tomorrow at 2 and 3:30. Have a great night!

We had a great first day! The flight was on time and we actually arrived a little early. After a little delay with the vans, we made it to a healthy lunch at Subway. The hotel is very nice and not too far from the airport. Everyone was able to unpack and freshen up for the visit to UCLA.

We had our first experience with the LA traffic as it took an hour to go 8 miles to the campus. We had a great visit around campus. Most of the students are preparing to discuss with you their future plans regarding collegiate endeavors at UCLA :)!!!

After the visit we were able to eat at a local pizza place. We finished off the night with a visit to Diddy Riese's, a Westwood Village staple (fresh ice cream sandwiches). You may recognize the area from Hollywood movie premieres. The teams are in bed as we have a long day tomorrow. Have a great night!!
