We just arrived back in San Jose. Everyone is exhausted from a long day. We got up early this morning and finished painting the two houses in Tilaran. After lunch, we went to the hot springs for the afternoon and then began our journey back to San Jose. It was a long 3.5 hours back. We are leaving around 12:30 (Costa Rica time) tomorrow.

We have had a great time in Costa Rica!

We had an incredible day! The bus pulled out at 7:15 am so that we could get to the high school on time. The students did a great job teaching each of the English classes. We played games, took surveys, performed our skit, talked about our families with the photos, and shared the gospel to each student in class. Everyone had a lot of fun and even though we were there for 6 class periods. The school fed us lunch during our break time.

After working in the school, we returned to the church for community evangelism. Some of the group began painting for a member of the church who is need of some help while the other half shared the gospel with some neighbors of the church. The group celebrated as two people started a relationship with Jesus Christ tonight! The pastor of the church was with us so that follow up can take place with the church. We just finished up dinner and are about to have devotions. Tomorrow, we will finish painting two houses. After the work project we are headed to the volcano for some fun at the hot springs.

All of the students are doing great! Have a great night. July 23, 2012

We had a great Sunday. Everyone did an awesome job. This morning Branson and Shayla gave their testimony during the main service at church (see picture). After the testimony time, we ran the kids ministry for the morning. Everyone did a great job connecting with the kids. When we finished lunch, the missionary did some evangelism training with the team in preparation for Monday afternoon when we will be sharing the gospel with people who live around the church. This evening we ran the youth group service. Jaci and Kat shared their testimony. The team did our skit and helped with games and songs. After the service, the Costa Ricans wanted our group to play soccer at the field. Almost everyone played. The kids had a great time hanging out with our students. We just finished devotions and are heading to bed. Tomorrow we will be in the local high school. Please pray for us and the students as we will be sharing the gospel to each of the classes. Have a great night.

We've had a long day. This morning we took everyone to shop in downtown San Jose. After an hour of shopping, we headed for the city of Tilaran. The drive took around 3 hours. When we arrived at the church, everyone went out and invited the kids in the community to our Bible program. We played games, sang songs, shared a Bible lesson, shared the wordless book and did a craft with around 30 kids. The students had a great time but are really tired. After our time with the kids, we had dinner and checked into the hotel. Tomorrow, we will have a kids program in the morning and then work with the youth group in the evening. Thanks for your prayers. Have a good night.

Well, we are all finally together. Daniel and I arrived this morning with no problems. The group is going over some songs that we will be singing with a kids group this evening. Everything went great last night. Alex stepped in and played the role of Jesus (Daniel's role) in the skit. Bri and Dani were able to give their testimony to the group as well. We will be sourvenir shopping this morning and will then head to Tilaran. Tonight, we'll be working with a kids ministry in the area. Thanks for your prayers. The kids have been very flexible and are going with the flow. Have a great day!

This afternoon has been crazy, like the rest of the trip. Everyone was set to fly to San Jose this afternoon until the supervisor for the airline came on and said they were overbooked and that myself and Daniel needed to stay in Panama until tomorrow morning. There was not much we could do since every other flight was booked solid. Miss Dionne and the rest of the group arrived safely into San Jose and met up with the missionary and his family. They went straight to dinner and then ministered at a youth group in San Jose. Daniel and I will join everyone in the morning. We are leaving for Tilaran, which is about a 3 hour drive from San Jose.  Tomorrow evening we will be helping run a youth activity with a local church in Tilaran. Please pray that our flight arrives on time (and that we get on the flight).

TMA Summer 2012 Mission Trip

So far it's been a pretty long day. We are still in Houston. The weather has caused delays for just about every airline. As of right now, our flight is scheduled to leave late for Panama. United Airlines is planning on putting us in a hotel once we get in due to our early flight to Costa Rica in the morning. All the students are making the best of the situation. We just had a nice dinner at Chili's.

More from Costa Rica tomorrow!
