REACH Election/Inaugural Ball
TMA's 3rd-5th grade REACH students held a fun mock election/Inaugural Ball. Students were able to cast their votes, calculate electoral votes, and role play the political figures. Students saw the difference between the electoral votes and popular votes. Once the winner was announced, everyone stood for the playing of The Star Spangled Banner. The appointed Chief Justice then swore the President into office with the Oath of Office of the President of the United States. After that, the Chaplain prayed for the President and our country. The President then went around greeting and thanking people to the song Hail to the Chief. Finally, there was an awesome celebration with music, food, and fun! The REACH students did a great job understanding how the election process works, and they proved they are really fantastic debaters, as well! The students also looked fabulous for the Inaugural Ball!
