Middle School Service Project

For the past few weeks, TMA middle school students have been enjoying some off campus service during their 7th period classes. Each week, students headed to Savannah Courts Nursing Home. While there, they played games and joined residents in “exercise time” which included throwing and kicking beach balls. The students also sang songs and simply spent time sitting and talking with the residents. It was a great time for both the adults in the home and also for our students. One of the residents said, “I just love listening to them laugh, it makes me feel young again.” The staff at the nursing home commented that our students are wonderful and well-behaved. One group was able to coax a lady who usually avoids any of the exercises to actually throw the ball back and forth! The kids are so positive and encouraging! We were very proud of these middle school students. TMA will continue taking students through the beginning of May.
