Dear High School Parents:

We are thrilled to begin another school year. This year, we begin with the largest high school enrollment in the history of The Master’s Academy. I am so excited to see what God has in store for us this year. The following information is an array of important items for your consideration. Enjoy the remainder of your summer!

Bring Your Own Device

This year students are required to bring their own device to school. The device choice is open to the student; however, we do have several requirements that should be understood before purchasing a device. Remember, The Master’s Academy is a Google Apps school, which means that all high school students have access to cloud based word processing, email, spreadsheets, presentation tools, calendars, etc. We highly encourage our students to take advantage of this phenomenal resource.

Additionally, several parents have inquired about insurance. As we move to a BYOD program, each family is responsible for their own insurance. There are several insurance providers covering personal electronic devices.  The vendor we previously used for our iPad insurance also covers personal electronic devices. If you are interested in purchasing this type of insurance, please go to their website and contact them directly. Please know that we are offering the following information, not as a promotion or sponsorship, but as general information.

High School Camp Sparta Retreat

Each year high school students participate in an exciting overnight retreat at Camp Sparta. This excursion will include fun activities that will draw our high school classes closer to each other and to the Lord. The retreat is held at Camp Sparta in Sebring, FL. The cost of the retreat is $85 and is pre-billed on all accounts. If students want to participate in the ropes course or paintball, there is an additional charge of $25 for each activity. Registration information and permission forms are available through Web Forms in your ParentsWeb account. Click here for additional information.

Camp Dates
  • September 17-18 - 11th and 12th Grade
  • September 18-19 - 9th and 10th Grade
Flex Period Changes

One of the benefits of our 7-period, modified block schedule is the Flex Period. This 45 minute period allows students to meet with teachers, study independently or with others, and to attend club and society meetings. In an effort to improve this time and to allow our junior and senior students to enjoy a privilege, we have decided to allow our junior and senior students to leave campus during Flex. Juniors and seniors desiring to leave early on Wednesdays should complete the permission form found in Web Forms in your ParentsWeb account.

Dress Code

This year we are going to be focusing on our theme, A Different Pursuit. To this end, we have chosen to allow students to wear their theme shirt on Wednesday. As a result, we are requiring students to wear uniforms on all other school days. This means that on Friday, students will be required to wear TMA uniforms. All dress code policies are outlined in our Parent/Student Handbook. In the past, students and parents have had questions specifically regarding length and tightness of shorts and skirts for girls and short styles and athletic shirts for boys. As a reminder students need to be in their Dennis uniform every day, with the exception of Wednesday, when they may wear their Theme shirt with their Dennis shorts or pants.

Theme Shirt Ordering

Theme shirts for “A Different Pursuit” are now available to order online via RenWeb Web Forms! Any online orders submitted after July 16, 2014 will not be able to be billed to your account and must be paid via cash or check to the Upper School Office.

The yearbooks for upper school students will be available for purchase online beginning August 11 for $50.00. This early bird price won't last long, order your copy now.

Make sure to keep up with all the important events throughout the school year by visiting our website often. As always, we are here to help you in any way we can. Please let us know if you have any questions or if we can assist you as we prepare for a great year to come!
