Colonial Day and Thanksgiving Feast
To enrich TMA’s Social Studies unit on Colonial America, second graders experienced activities from that era during our annual Colonial Day and Thanksgiving Feast. They enjoyed making and sampling homemade ice cream and butter, hand dipping candles, crushing corn to make corn flour, playing games, quilting, doll and marble making, tin punching, and writing with a quill dipped in ink. The children learned that no matter how difficult life was for the early colonists, they never stopped trusting in and thanking God for their freedom and blessings!
